Join Us for a Monthly Journey of Day Trips to Explore Surprising Places and Adopt Approaches that May Change Your Life and Expand Your Sense of Belonging to the Bay Area

October 25 2008 through April 18 2009

Through walking, meditation, stories and poems, observation of nature, and hands-on interactions with native plants, you’ll learn new ways to experience the magical world in which we live at the edge of San Francisco Bay.

The wisdom of endangered animal species, and guided visualizations about petroglyphs carry messages from the past. We’ll create ceremonies based on timeless shamanic practices, to honor the mountains, and spend time on a 5000 year old shell mound.

Faced with diminishing gas supplies and current challenges to travel abroad, learn how to fulfill your desire to visit places that inspire and stimulate you, traveling less than two hours from home.

Location: Once a month between October 2008 and April 2009, we’ll explore places of power using moderate trails on the Marin Headlands, Ring Mountain, Mt. Tamalpais, Mt. Diablo, Mt. Umunhum, and San Bruno Mountain. At least one night of our journey, we’ll have an opportunity to camp.

Participants: Adults capable of moderate walking, and willing to travel with intent

Dates: One Saturday a Month, October 25 2008 to April 18, 2009. Dates include October 25, November 15, December 13, January 17, February 21, March 21, and April 18. Overnight date TBD.

Cost: 7 days with one overnight, $350 per person. Discounted rate of 10% ($315) for seniors over 55, single parents, and students. Payments may be made in 2 installments.

Reserve a place: Write a brief letter of application describing your interest in this pilgrimage, your experience in nature, your physical capacity for walking, and any concerns you may have about the process. Submit to divine_feminine@itp.edu with Circling San Francisco Bay as the subject.

Bio: Author Ginny Anderson will guide you in your exploration. In this bonding adventure, your connection to the community of friends with whom you travel can deepen; your relationship with your home territory can become something you never imagined. Our work will culminate in the creation of a community ceremony on behalf of Earth Day, 2009.
